• Criticised for a TV Commercial
She once appeared in a TV commercial of Calida undergarment along with the Indian actor Dino Morea. The ad was quite sensuous and was not well received by the public. A few people from women's organisations even protested infront of her house for working in such indecent TV commercial. In an interview, while talking about it, Bipasha said,
"I regret doing that advertisement. The truth is I am not very comfortable with my body. I was roped into doing it because my boyfriend Dino Morea and the ad-photographer, Prabhudda Dasgupta, who is a friend, were a part of the campaign. Now, I had worn a proper t-shirt and underwear, but while taking the photographs, there were some personal snaps taken as well, which were not meant to be used. The agency released one such photograph.”
• Feud with Kareena Kapoor
In 2001, the Indian fashion designer Vikram Phadnis was working for Kareena Kapoor in the Hindi film ‘Ajnabee.’ However, Vikram once tried to help Bipasha with her outfit on which Kareena got very angry. According to the sources, Kareena and Bipasha had a verbal and physical fight over this, and Kareena even called her Kaali Billi (black cat). The two avoided talking to each other for some time, but in 2008, when Kareena invited Bipasha to Saif Ali Khan’s birthday party, they cleared their misunderstandings.
• Criticised for Promoting Indecency
She was again criticised for her photoshoot. This time, she did a photoshoot with the Indian actress Ameesha Patel in which they were posing quite seductively. Some people even protested infront of Bipasha’s house for promoting vulgarity.
• Adult Audio Clip
In 2006, she was accused of having adult talks with the Indian politician Amar Singh in an audio chat. The audio went viral in media. Bipasha was badly trolled for her this act. However, when Amar Singh came in media and cleared that the man in the audio was him but the girl was not Bipasha Basu, then people stopped passing negative comments on her.
• Bashed for Hiring Child Labour
In 2013, she was bashed by the netizens for one of her Instagram photos in which she was seen getting her shoelaces tied by two girls. Netizens criticised her for hiring child labour. However, she clarified that the girls were her sisters, but the netizens commented that from the picture it was clear that photo was of two minor girls and not her sisters.
