Asin Thottumkal is a former Indian actress who made a significant mark in the South Indian film industry and Bollywood. Born on 26 October 1985 in Kochi, Kerala, she pursued her education in English Literature before stepping into films. Known for her natural charm, expressive acting, and versatile performances, Asin quickly rose to fame with her debut in Malayalam cinema before moving to Tamil and Telugu films. She gained nationwide recognition with her Bollywood debut opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini (2008). Her grace, talent, and fluency in multiple languages helped her build a strong pan-Indian fanbase.

Career Life
Asin began her career in Malayalam cinema with Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), but it was her work in Tamil films like M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi and Ghajini (2005) that established her as a leading actress. She worked alongside top South Indian stars such as Vijay, Surya, and Kamal Haasan. In Bollywood, she debuted with Ghajini (2008), one of the highest-grossing films of its time. She went on to star in successful films like Ready (2011), Housefull 2 (2012), and Bol Bachchan (2012). Known for her blend of glamour and substance, Asin retired from acting after her marriage.

Personal Life
Asin was born into a Syro-Malabar Catholic family in Kerala. Her father, Joseph Thottumkal, was a businessman, and her mother, Seline, a surgeon. A multi-talented individual, Asin is fluent in several languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, and French. Beyond films, she is known for her disciplined, private lifestyle and love for reading and traveling. In January 2016, she married Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax, in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family. The couple welcomed their daughter, Arin, in 2017. Post-marriage, Asin stepped away from films to focus on family and personal life.
