| Controversies |
• He attracted a controversy when some Punjabi women raised their voice against the songs of Diljit, Jazzy B, and Yo Yo Honey Singh; as they considered it vulgar and anti-cultural.
• In December 2012, a team of the Income Tax Department raided the residence of Diljit Dosanjh in Ludhiana.
• In December 2020, he had a war of words with Kangana Ranaut after she misidentified an elderly woman as the 'Dadi' (Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh fame) through one of her tweets in which she doubted the intention of her taking part in the ongoing farmers' protest against the central government's newly drafted farmer's bills. Later, the elderly woman was found to be a Sikh woman, Mahinder Kaur.
Following this, Diljit took to Twitter to condemn Kangana's remarks on the elderly woman, and this Twitter war became intense after Kangana retaliated and addressed Diljit a ‘pet’ of filmmaker Karan Johar. Later, Kangana received criticisms from many celebrities including Swara Bhaskar, Richa Chadda, Ammy Virk, Mika Singh, and others.
• He made headlines in December 2024 when he uploaded a tweet announcing the beginning of his concert in Punjab, which he spelled as Panjab. Many social media users claimed that Panjab is a spelling used by Pakistan to refer to their side of province. They also pinpointed the missing Indian tricolour, which Diljit always uses whenever he announces his concert in any Indian city or state. To this, Diljit lashed out at the social media users and accused them of creating a controversy for no reason.
• In 2025, he received backlash from Indians after it was revealed that he was starring opposite the Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the Punjabi film Sardaarji 3. Diljit was criticised for his decision to work with Hania despite the tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident in April 2025.
