• Criticised for Sharing Fake Magazine Cover
The Indian actor Kushal Tandon once shared a photograph of Gauahar on the cover of Stardust magazine. Soon, people started speculating that Gauahar was featured as the cover model of Stardust magazine. However, it was found out that the image was not genuine but morphed. Consequently, the officials from Stardust magazine issued a statement to clarify that Gauahar's Instagram post featuring the Stardust logo had no association with their publication. They reached out to Gauahar, requesting her to delete the post, yet she felt unsure due to concerns that the media might make negative speculations about her. The magazine authorities even said that they would take legal measures against the person who had utilised their logo without authorisation and contradicted their company's policy. Subsequently, Gauahar explained the situation and provided clarity through a video. She said,
"It’s very unprofessional when certain media outlets use my personal conversations with them as quotes. It’s saddening. The picture itself doesn’t show that it was a cover of the magazine they talked about. They have also mentioned that they will take legal action against the people who made it, so please stay calm!”
• Wardrobe Malfunction in a Fashion Show
In 2006, during the fashion show Fashion Week in Mumbai, Gauahar Khan walked the runway as a model. On the event's third day, she donned a golden top paired with a black skirt, both designed by the fashion designer Lascelles Symmons. As she walked down the runway, her skirt unexpectedly tore in the middle from back. She continued her walk gracefully. However, various media sources speculated that it was a planned act, and she did it intentionally to gain publicity.
• Slapped in a TV Show
In 2014, while she was hosting the finale of the Hindi reality TV show ‘India’s Raw Star,’ she was slapped by a man named Akil Mallik, who was present in the audience. Akil also made inappropriate remarks about her attire and said that as a Muslim woman, she should refrain from wearing outfits of shorter length. However, in an interview, Akil disclosed that it was a planned act. According to Akil, he met Gauahar two days before the incident, and Khan had asked her to slap her in the show to gain publicitiy. He said that Khan had promised him that she would help Akil in getting a role in Salman Khan’s film 'Dabangg 3.'
