Harris Dickinson was born on June 24, 1996, in Leytonstone, East London. Raised in Highams Park, he began acting at a young age, attending Raw Academy. At 17, he left school to pursue acting full-time, initially considering a career in the Royal Marines before returning to the stage. His breakout role came in 2017 with Beach Rats, earning him nominations for the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award. He has since gained recognition for his performances in films such as Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), The King's Man (2021), and Triangle of Sadness (2022).
Career Life
Dickinson's career began with British television roles before transitioning to film. His portrayal of John Paul Getty III in the FX series Trust (2018) showcased his versatility. He continued to build his filmography with roles in Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) and The Iron Claw (2023), where he portrayed wrestler David Von Erich. In 2025, Dickinson made his directorial debut with Urchin, a film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI Prize. He is also set to play John Lennon in Sam Mendes' upcoming Beatles biopic.
Personal Life
Harris Dickinson has been in a long-term relationship with musician Rose Gray, whom he met in secondary school. The couple shares a home in East London with their cat, Misty Blue. They maintain a private life, often collaborating creatively; Dickinson has directed two of Gray's music videos, "Blue" and "Afraid of Nothing." In April 2025, he signed an open letter supporting trans rights in the UK, demonstrating his commitment to social issues.
