Lainey Denay Wilson (born May 19, 1992, Baskin, Louisiana) is an American country singer-songwriter noted for her distinct voice and blend of traditional and contemporary country. Growing up in a small rural town with a teacher mother and a farmer father, music was central in her home from early on. She began writing songs by age nine, playing guitar at 11, and performing locally. She moved to Nashville in 2011 to pursue music, releasing her first albums independently before achieving mainstream success. With multiple charting albums, hit singles, and numerous awards, Wilson has become one of country music’s most respected voices.

Lainey Wilson’s career began with indie albums Lainey Wilson (2014) and Tougher (2016), released before she gained wider notice. In 2019 she released the EP Redneck Hollywood and secured a publishing deal; her song “Things a Man Oughta Know” in 2020 became her first No. 1 country radio hit. Her later albums Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ (2021), Bell Bottom Country (2022), and Whirlwind (2024) have spawned multiple hit singles. Personal Life
Lainey Wilson was raised in Baskin, Louisiana, by her father Brian (a farmer) and mother Michelle (a schoolteacher). She moved to Nashville in 2011, initially facing hardship, living in a trailer, working small shows, writing songs, and doing what she needed to chase her dream. Lainey is engaged to Devlin “Duck” Hodges, a former NFL player. They met in 2021. She remains grounded, often referencing her rural roots, authentic personality, and strong work ethic.
