Manasi Sudhir is an Indian actress, singer, and professional Bharatanatyam dancer from Udupi, Karnataka. She holds a Master’s degree in English Literature and began her acting career in 2006 with the Kannada film Ramya Chaitrakala. Her talent was recognized by Kannada poet Jayant Kaikini, who encouraged her to pursue acting. Manasi has since appeared in several Kannada films, including Kantara (2022), where she portrayed the protagonist's mother. She is also known for her performances in Tulu films and her work as a classical dancer.
Career Life
Manasi Sudhir's acting journey began unexpectedly while pursuing her master's degree. She debuted in the Kannada film Ramya Chaitrakala (2006), followed by roles in Shankara Punyakoti (2009), Ammana Mane (2019), and Katha Sangama (2019). Her breakthrough came with Kantara (2022), directed by Rishab Shetty, where she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the protagonist's mother. In addition to her film career, Manasi is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and co-director of Nrithyaniketana Kodavoor, a dance institution in Udupi.
Personal Life
Manasi Sudhir is married to Sudhir Rao Kodavoor, a dance teacher. They got married on June 12, 2006, and together they co-direct Nrithyaniketana Kodavoor, promoting classical dance in Udupi. Manasi is the daughter of Muraleedhara Upadhya, a retired Kannada professor, and Sharada Upadhya. She has a sister named Alaka Jithendra, who is a yoga therapist. Despite her public career, Manasi maintains a private personal life, focusing on her family and artistic endeavors.
