Priyamani Raj, born on June 4, 1984, in Palakkad, Kerala, is an Indian actress known for her work in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. She began her acting career in 2003 with the Tamil film Kangalal Kaidhu Sei. Priyamani gained widespread recognition for her role in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran (2007), which earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress. She has also won multiple Filmfare Awards South for her performances in various regional films. Apart from acting, Priyamani is fluent in several languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu, and Kannada.

She has also revealed that she and her cousin, Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, have never been on speaking terms, despite being second cousins.
