He belongs to the royal family of Pataudi, being the son of former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore. Saif made his Bollywood debut with Parampara (1993), but gained recognition with Yeh Dillagi and Main Khiladi Tu Anari.
