In October 2023, she was accused of being pro-genocide after she posted on Instagram about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She later deleted her post and apologised for her remarks on the conflict.

In 2019, she received death wishes from two Baptist pastors over her 2005 “Jesus Is Magic” comedy special in which she joked about killing Jesus and said,
"I'm glad the Jews killed Jesus. I'd do it again!"
• Fired for her blackface photo
In 2019, she revealed that she was once fired from a movie after producers found her blackface photo from 2007 in which she wore blackface make-up in an episode of her former Comedy Central show “The Sarah Silverman Program.” In the show, she said,
“I look like the beautiful Queen Latifah."
• Apologised to Paris Hilton for prison jokes
While hosting the MTV Movie Awards in June 2007, she joked at Paris Hilton violating probation on an alcohol-related drink-driving conviction, which made Hilton, who was sitting in the audience, uncomfortable. Silverman later apologised to Hilton.
• Criticised for joking at Britney Spears
She was heavily criticised after she mocked Britney Spears' "slutty clothes" and called her two sons "adorable mistakes" at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. She later expressed regret over her remarks.
