Sathyaraj, born Rangaraj Subbaiah on 3 October 1954 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is a celebrated Indian actor, director, producer, and media personality. He is best known for his versatile performances in Tamil cinema and has acted in over 200 films across various languages. Widely admired for his commanding screen presence and powerful dialogue delivery, Sathyaraj has played diverse roles ranging from villain, comedian, to character actor. Personal Life
Sathyaraj was born into a Tamil family in Coimbatore. His father, Subbaiah, was a doctor, while his mother, Nathambal, was a homemaker. He pursued botany at Government Arts College, Coimbatore, before shifting his focus to cinema. Sathyaraj married Maheshwari in 1979, and the couple has two children—daughter Divya and son Sibi Sathyaraj, who is also an actor.
