Controversies • In 2004, a case filed against her for insulting the National flag during a fashion show which was organized by the National Institute of Fashion Design. She was alleged to have walked the ramp by wrapping her in the flag.
• In 2011, she had registered a complaint against the director of Kunnath Pharmaceuticals 'K. C. Abraham' for using her photographs to promote their Ayurvedic aphrodisiac Musli Power Extra without her permission.
• In 2012, Shweta was criticised by Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker 'G. Karthikeyan' for allowing her delivery to be recorded on camera for the Malayalam film 'Kalimannu.' Kerala Film Exhibitors' Federation also condemned the film and said that they would boycott the film if the director 'Blessy' includes the delivery scene.
• In 2013, she had lodged an FIR against N. Peethambara Kurup by alleging that he had molested her during the President's Trophy Boat Race. She later withdrew the complaint after Kurup made an apology to her.
